About me

Dr. med. Ralf Damwerth
General Practitioner, Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering

Born in Germany, educated in Berlin and Munich, with over eight years of international experience in Portugal — these are the key milestones in brief.

As a General Practitioner, I have the privilege of supporting people on their journey toward health every day.

From early childhood, I was fascinated by invisible forces such as electricity and magnetism, which seem to operate out of thin air. This was merely the beginning of a lifelong search for the origins of human existence. My path led from a youthful passion for electronics and technology to profound philosophical reflections, eventually culminating in a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Biomedical Engineering.

The driving force and focus has always been "insight" — the pursuit of understanding something fundamental and deeper.

With growing professional and life experience, I have realised how vital principles, hidden inner convictions, and legitimising narratives are to our individual realities and the shaping of society. This makes it all the more important to get to the bottom of the biological, psychological, and sociological contexts in which they arise.

We will only be able to solve the challenges of our time if we take honest responsibility and act with true intent.

I advocate for a shift in discourse: moving away from supposed economic constraints and toward a new global ethic.

As a father, I wish for a world worth living in for future generations. Married to a Portuguese woman, I share a deep connection with Portugal and the Lusophone world.

The transformation toward sustainability and a new ethic may seem daunting. However, it will grow from the many small steps taken by many people—people who simply get started because it makes sense to them.
